Is hypnotherapy safe? Will I be in control?

Yes. Hypnotherapy is a natural state of focused awareness. You remain in full control at all times — your subconscious only accepts suggestions aligned with your well-being. Many clients describe it as feeling both calm and alert, like being absorbed in a book. And if you ever needed to, you’d naturally return to full awareness on your own.

What can hypnotherapy help with?

Hypnotherapy supports personal growth goals such as confidence, stress reduction, habit change, motivation, and performance. Think of it as re-patterning the subconscious so you can live with more clarity, resilience, and freedom. My work focuses on non-clinical goals such as weight loss, motivation, mindset, and everyday habits… supporting personal growth rather than medical treatment. Clients often come in with one focus and leave surprised at the ripple effects in other areas of their life. Do you treat medical or psychological conditions?

No. Clinical conditions such as depression, PTSD, OCD, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, or suicidal thoughts require licensed medical or mental-health professionals. The Frank Approach provides non-clinical hypnotherapy… designed for lifestyle and personal development, not medical treatment.

What’s the difference between a Certified Hypnotherapist and a Clinical Hypnotherapist?

A Certified Hypnotherapist supports lifestyle change and personal growth… helping with confidence, stress, habits, and performance.

This includes everyday goals such as weight loss, motivation, and emotional balance rather than diagnosis or treatment.

Whereas, a Clinical Hypnotherapist works within medical or psychological treatment and requires specific healthcare licensing. I provide Certified Hypnotherapy, focused on helping you unlock potential and move forward in life.

How many sessions will I need?

Many people notice meaningful change in just 1 to 3 sessions. Think of it like tending a garden — 🌿 some weeds lift out easily, while others have roots that need loosening before new growth can flourish. Sometimes we first clear old anchors or beliefs before moving directly onto your main goal. Some shifts happen in a single moment, others unfold in layers — both are normal. Your commitment and responsiveness play a big role. Together, we’ll review progress and decide what feels right for you.

Can I combine hypnotherapy with other therapies or treatments?

Yes. Hypnotherapy often works beautifully alongside counselling, coaching, physiotherapy, or pain management. Healing often works best when supports come together like threads in a tapestry — each adding strength and colour to the whole. Hypnotherapy is complementary. It doesn’t replace medical or psychological treatment, but it can enhance the work you’re already doing. For best results, let your doctor or therapist know you’re adding hypnotherapy, so everyone can support you fully.

How long do results last?

Everyone’s journey is unique. Some changes feel immediate and lasting, while others need reinforcement over time. Hypnotherapy plants the seeds … your attention, practice, and commitment help them grow strong. With consistency, the results often become part of who you are, not just what you do.

How should I prepare for a session?

Preparation is simple. Arrive on time, free from distractions, wearing something comfortable, and with an open mind. For in-person sessions, that’s all you need. For online sessions, check your camera and microphone in advance so you can relax knowing everything is ready. Think of it as setting aside a calm corner where the world fades out and your focus turns inward.

Do I need to do anything after my session?

Yes — but only something gentle. Give yourself a few quiet minutes to let the changes settle in. Think of it like pressing “save” on your inner work. A short walk, a cup of tea, or simple breathing is often enough. These little pauses help your subconscious integrate the shifts.

Is there anything I can do to help myself between sessions? Do you have any free resources?

Yes. The more you engage with your own growth, the deeper the results. Journaling, mindful breathing, or short reflection breaks all reinforce the changes you’ve made. Do you record sessions?

Sessions are not normally recorded. At times, an audio recording may be created for your review or to help me track progress in our work together. All recordings remain the property of The Frank Approach and are for your personal use only. They may not be copied, shared, or distributed without written permission, and can be securely deleted upon request. If you’d like a recording, please let me know at or before the start of the session.

🌿 Online & Technology Questions

Do I need special equipment for an online session?

No special equipment is needed. A stable internet connection and a private, comfortable space are enough. Your computer’s built-in camera and microphone usually work fine. If you’re using a phone, place it on a stand so you can stay hands-free. Headphones or a clear speaker make it easier for us to hear each other fully. Think of it as setting up a quiet corner where the world can fade out, and your focus can turn inward. The fewer distractions, the deeper the work.

Can I test my Zoom setup before my session?

Yes — and I encourage it. Zoom provides a free test link you can use anytime: https://zoom.us/test  Think of it like trying on clothes before an important event — a quick check that everything fits and feels right.

Are online sessions private and secure?

Yes. Online sessions are held through encrypted platforms such as Zoom, and your confidentiality is protected just as it would be in person. Privacy is part of the container we create together — a safe space where you can speak freely and explore change without worry. While I safeguard your confidentiality on my end, it’s also important that you choose a quiet, private space on your side of the call, so you can relax knowing your words stay yours.

What if there are technical issues during an online session?

Online sessions usually run smoothly, but if a connection drops, we’ll simply reconnect and continue. If technical problems prevent us from completing the session, we’ll reschedule at no extra cost. Just as a passing cloud doesn’t stop the sun from shining, a brief tech glitch doesn’t stop your progress. For best results, close background apps and limit streaming during your session. These small steps mean we can stay fully focused on your transformation rather than troubleshooting.

Can you work with clients outside of Canada?

Yes. Many clients connect online from across Canada and internationally. Please note that all services are provided under British Columbia and Canadian law, regardless of where you are located.

🌿 Booking, Payments & Cancellations

What if I need to reschedule?

Your first change is always free if you rebook within 7 days. If you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, fees may apply. Please see the Booking & Rescheduling Policy for full details. Life happens — the important thing is that we find a time that supports your progress.

What if I have to cancel completely?

If you change your mind within 48 hours of booking, you can receive a full refund. Closer to your appointment, refunds are limited because that time has been reserved for you. Please see the Booking & Rescheduling Policy for the exact terms. My goal is always fairness — protecting both your commitment and the value of reserved time.
